Conference Housing Assistant
May - July 2019 • Fort Worth, TX
What I liked
I liked that I was able to work and connect with other TCU students, while improving my customer service, people, and communication skills. I enjoyed working with the interns and the Housing and Residency staff, and also gradually becoming friends with my coworkers. I feel like my summer was put to good use because I genuinely like helping people and I got to do just that.
What I wish was different
Overall, it was a good experience but I wish we had more bonding activities as student staff.
Advice
I would definitely recommend becoming a CHA at TCU over the summer, and my number one advice to anyone who applies and gets the position is to effectively communicate with the other CHAs and interns. You will always get the help you need if you reach out and ask for it. Doing you tasks in a timely manner also helps a lot.
